How Much Does a Website Cost in Morocco in 2026? Real Price Ranges
It comes up in almost every first meeting, and rightly so: "how much does a website cost?" The honest answer is that the range runs from a few thousand dirhams to several hundred thousand — because "a website" can mean anything from a single presentation page to a business platform wired into an ERP.
Rather than leave you without a reference point, here are the ranges we see on the Moroccan market in 2026, and more importantly what actually moves a quote up or down. Based in Marrakech since 2001, we have seen enough projects to know where money is well spent and where it is simply wasted.
Price ranges in Morocco in 2026
Project type | Indicative range (MAD, excl. tax) | Approx. EUR | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
Landing page / one-page site | 5,000 – 12,000 | €450 – €1,100 | 1 to 2 weeks |
Custom brochure site (5 to 10 pages) | 15,000 – 40,000 | €1,400 – €3,700 | 4 to 8 weeks |
Multilingual site with admin back-office | 30,000 – 60,000 | €2,800 – €5,500 | 6 to 10 weeks |
E-commerce (standard catalogue, online payment) | 35,000 – 80,000 | €3,200 – €7,400 | 8 to 12 weeks |
Custom business platform / CRM | 80,000 – 300,000+ | €7,400 – €27,500+ | 3 to 9 months |
Redesign of an existing site | 20,000 – 60,000 | €1,850 – €5,500 | 4 to 10 weeks |
These figures assume genuinely custom work: discovery, design, development, launch and training. A site assembled from a $50 theme will obviously cost less — we explain below why that is not always a saving.
The 7 factors that really move the quote
1. Page count — far less than you would think
Going from 5 to 15 pages built on the same template barely changes the budget. What costs money is the number of different page types: a catalogue page, an article page, a booking page and a contact page are four templates to design and build.
2. Custom build vs. off-the-shelf theme
A purchased WordPress theme ships with dozens of features you will never use, which bloats your pages and drags down loading speed. We build with Laravel: the codebase contains only what your project needs. Higher upfront cost, usually lower total cost of ownership over five years.
3. Multilingual requirements
In Morocco this comes up almost every time: French, Arabic, English, sometimes Spanish. It is not just translation — it means a database structure designed for it, clean per-language URLs, correct hreflang tags and, for Arabic, a full right-to-left layout. Budget 25 to 40% extra for a properly built multilingual site.
4. Content
The most underestimated line item, and the number one cause of project delays. If you supply the copy and photography, there is nothing to bill. If we write, translate, shoot or produce video, that adds up — and it earns its place: a beautiful site filled with generic text neither converts nor ranks.
5. Integrations
Online payment (CMI, PayZone, Stripe), syncing with a POS system or an ERP, connecting a hotel channel manager, automated quote delivery — each integration is a technical project in its own right and is priced separately.
6. SEO built in from the start
A site designed for search from the architecture stage costs marginally more than one that is not. A site that has to be retrofitted afterwards costs far more. URL structure, semantic markup, structured data, performance: these are design decisions, not a layer you bolt on at the end. It is the core of how we approach search engine optimisation.
7. What comes after launch
A website is not a finished deliverable. Plan for these annual costs:
.maor.comdomain name: MAD 200 – 400 per year;hosting sized for your traffic: MAD 600 – 2,500 per year;
maintenance, updates and backups: MAD 3,000 – 12,000 per year;
SEO or paid advertising, if you actually want traffic: from MAD 3,000 per month.
Why two quotes can differ by a factor of five
You will receive very different proposals for an identical brief. That does not automatically mean one agency is overcharging. Look at what each one includes:
Is the design original, or a stock theme? Ask to see mockups before you sign.
Who owns the code and the accounts? Some providers keep the domain, hosting or codebase in their own name. You should own all of it.
Are training and documentation included? An admin panel you cannot use leaves you dependent.
How many revision rounds are planned? "Unlimited revisions" does not exist; a clear number beats a vague promise.
Are performance and accessibility in the specification? A slow site loses visitors and rankings — we cover this in our article on speed and conversions.
What budget for what goal?
You want to exist online and build trust
Restaurant, clinic, craftsman, neighbourhood business: a well-made brochure site, fast, with real photography and a properly maintained Google Business Profile. Budget MAD 15,000 – 30,000. The classic mistake at this level is overspending on features and underspending on content.
You want to sell online
Budget for the site, but also for logistics, product photography and customer acquisition. An e-commerce site with no advertising or SEO budget is an empty shop window. If funds are tight, a MAD 40,000 site plus MAD 30,000 of campaigns beats a MAD 70,000 site with no traffic.
You want to industrialise an operation
Bookings, scheduling, quotes, follow-ups: this is where custom development earns its keep. We built exactly that for Azar restaurant and for Click Excursions. The maths is done in hours saved, not pages delivered — and AI-driven automation is pushing that break-even point lower every year.
The most common false economies
The "free" site bundled with hosting. You own neither the code nor the data, and leaving costs more than the site did.
The purchased template, heavily patched. MAD 10,000 saved at signature, full rebuild eighteen months later.
No content budget. The site launches with placeholder copy — which is still there two years on.
No maintenance. An unpatched CMS eventually gets compromised; cleanup and recovering trust with Google cost far more than the subscription you skipped.
A site with no visibility strategy. Publishing a site does not generate traffic. In 2026 you also need to be cited by AI assistants — that is what GEO addresses, and we unpack it in this article.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a brochure website cost in Morocco?
Between MAD 15,000 and 40,000 excluding tax for a custom 5 to 10 page site, covering discovery, design, development, launch and training. A simple landing page starts around MAD 5,000.
How much does an e-commerce website cost in Morocco?
Expect MAD 35,000 to 80,000 excluding tax for a store with a catalogue, checkout and online payment. Connecting to a Moroccan payment gateway such as CMI or PayZone involves separate paperwork and bank fees.
Are there annual costs for a website?
Yes — at minimum the domain name and hosting. Maintenance is strongly recommended: security updates, backups and fixes. Without it, a site becomes vulnerable within months.
How long does it take to build a website?
From two weeks for a landing page to several months for a custom platform. The limiting factor is almost always content readiness and approval speed, not development.
WordPress or custom development?
WordPress suits a simple editorial site with a content budget. As soon as there is business logic involved — bookings, stock, variable pricing, connection to an internal tool — a custom Laravel build costs less to run and ages far better.
Is SEO included in the price?
With us, technical SEO fundamentals are included in every site we deliver: structure, markup, performance, structured data. Active SEO — regular content, link building, rank tracking — is a separate monthly engagement.
